A day on the sea

Our next door neighbour in Malta, Berenice was a beautiful old sailing yacht from 1923. She has an amazing story and has been sitting at the bottom of the sea for 9 years before being restored to her old self around 2000.
Her 18-year old Captain and the rest of her new crew took us with them on their first sea trial of the season and our Mate was nice enough to take some lovely pictures.
Our favorite little sea dog Mars, who had his first sail that day and was so tired from all the helping that he just crawled up on Christians lap and fell a sleep in the end

We also took a little resting time and enjoyed the calm ocean and not having to service anybody while sailing. The Mate cought us sitting out of the crew’s way

Last pictures from Thailand and M

We left M on the 29th march and headed towards a mini vacation in Denmark and our new jobs onboard M2
So we will just post the last pictures from Thailand before starting all the M2 pictures

Work clothes pictures

Sometimes during charters we get a few short moments when the guests leave the ship to do other things. Then we hurry to the camera and take some pictures with the nice places in the background

One happy day I had one hour of in the middle of the day and then we went and ‘hung out’ in the big hamock on M’s bow. This is how that looked

Pirate Party

In the middle of the crossing, around the Maldive Islands we held a little half-way party where we all dressed up as pirates. There were some nice interpretations of pirates among the crews outfits…

Yet another sunday to spend… What to do?

We sleept as long as we could and then at 11 we watched the movie Legends of The Guardians – The owls of GaHool in 3D. By then it ws half an hour past mid day and all the day was ahead of us. So off corse we did the thing we always do: go a place where they serve good food.

Todays restaurant was Pelegrini in the centre of town right next to the church. From the table we could watch all the tourist-groups and have the  church described to us in English, German, Italian and Croatian language

Restaurant Paparazzi

On top of the local mall there is a restaurant that looks very much like an ordinary mall-cantina, but it is much better than it looks. Here Christian is eating his tartar starter with my chicken-sesam salad.

Restaurant Paparazzi

Home the past 2 months

As a main corse we had to lovely green pepper steaks - all for a very nice price.

The Shipyard

We have photographed just about everything else, so now its time to make a little ad for NCP shipyard

Brunch in the sunday sun

Our favorite everyday restaurant

In town we found a restaurant that we just can’t stop visiting. Especially because of their wonderful shrimp paté, that we are trying to copy. This is a picture of our 6th og 7th visit on a sunday morning when the sun was shining and our stomachs were roaring

Look at those big eyes

The Venetian bag is off corse with us this time, and the menu was good Croatian bacon, scrambled eggs with tomatoes and orange juice and our favorite and the reason we keep coming back; the shrimp paté. And all for the price of what two cops of coffee would cost in Denmark

Newest member of our group

I just couldn’t stand for this little guy when we came across her big eyes at the mall. We call her Tangerine because that was what it said on her. ‘Tangerine – I live trouble’ :)

More food pictures

Some weekends ago all of the M crew went to a super nice traditional Croatian meal. It was pork and lamb in big pieces that was placed on top of potatoes and carrots. Then it is placed under a bell-shaped iron lid that then is covered with burning charcoal and sits there becoming tender and very well-flavored over the next 3 hours.

The meat was super good and moist, but the potatoes was fantastic! I have never had such good vegetables, – they had all the juices and flavour of the meat and had a perfect consistency. Such a good meal, that we won’t forget soon.

Lunch with the Chief

Lunch in the sun with the Chief

Some days when Christian is not too busy (which is not often) he enjoys his lunch sitting on the deck in the hot sun. The overalls and the bare feet is not something you would see in Christian’s former job in the North Sea

Searching under the bed

Lots of plastic

Now that we are in shipyard everything inside must be wrapped in plastic of different sorts. Bubble wrap was very hard to find here, but eventually it was found and carried on to the ship

Like a local carrier

Since then more than 100 m of bubble wrap and 200 m of ordinary plastic have been used. And the task is still not finished.

Underneath our bed

Our aircondition is acting up a little, so Christian had to get under our bed and check in all the little rooms that contain funny stuff to find the sensor.

One of the first pictures taken of us on the trip. At first AM looked really silly and in this shot, Christian is the one that made faces for the camera
